MDEWAKANTON FIRE EXPLORER PROGRAM
Mission Statement
To protect the lives, safety,property, and environment of all persons in the community and surrounding areas we serve; to educate, inform, and enforce life safety with knowledge and fairness; to give to the fullest measure of services.
Post 9100 will follow the Mdewakanton Fire Department's rules and regulations as our own. Additional rules and regulations have been added to pertain to the post. As a member of Post 9100, it will be expected that members reflect courteous conduct. All members of the department and post will be expected to act accordingly at all times, whether on or off duty, reflecting credit upon themselves as well as their department and community.
We at Mdewakanton Fire/Rescue believe in helping to provide youth opportunities to learn and serve the community. We do this by creating exciting programs like the Explorers to help youth gain experience in leadership and responsibility while having fun. The program is multifaceted to include emergency medicine, fire suppression, dispatch center operations, and emergency management.
The youth of our community are growing up in a fast paced environment. This program is geared to assist the youth with this growth, and to prepare them for the future. The Explorer posts will help you child gain an understanding of some of the potential hazards and emergencies that exist in the community. Hopefully, this will assist them in making good decisions in the future.
